Turn Out the Lights.....
The ice is out and the season is over for another year. On May 3rd, City View held its annual Spring AGM. The highlights include:
- Thanks to the upcoming HST, over 77% of our members have already renewed for 2010-2011
- The Club did a great job of exceeding revenue targets, while continuing to hold the line on costs.
- Building improvements over the summer will include roof repairs and painting, and repaving of the front walkway
- On the ice front, the decision was made to remove the divider board for the upcoming season.
- CVCC also has a new ice maker. Dennis Elgie will tackle the most important job at the Club for the new season. Dennis was the Head Icemaker at the East York (Toronto) Curling Club, a 6-sheet facility, before joining us.
- New members of the City View board of directors were appointed. Mark Barnes takes over the role of Secretary, Patrick Boisvenue and Stephanie Marriott become Saturday Mixed Coordinators, Rob Collins steps in to run Friday Mixed, and Patti Vankeeken will take over Day Ladies.
Enjoy your spring and summer, and we hope to see you all back in the fall! If you haven't already, please click on the Membership link and renew your membership. Don't be disappointed!
