Ye Olde Yule Cup

The Yule Cup was made and donated to the Club by Ben Johnson in 1961. The trophy itself was fabricated from a piece of copper stove pipe. The trophy was awarded to the winner of the annual Christmas Bonspiel until 1998. In 2006, the trophy was revived for the 50th Anniversary Christmas Bonspiel, and has been awarded to the winner of the new Christmas Bonspiel ever since. Originally, the trophy also came with a bottle of rye. The winners filled the Cup and passed it around for everyone to enjoy a small bit of "Christmas Cheer." This tradition was not revived in 2006. |
