Basic Rules
Games are a maximum of eight (8) ends long. There are no extra ends played in case of a tie.
Teams must alternate between sexes in the throwing order at all times including when playing with three (3) curlers. Team Doucette’s lineup in the exact posted order consisting of three (3) males and one (1) female is the only exception.
A coin-flip before the start of the game will decide who gets the hammer (last rock). The team that wins the coin-flip typically chooses to have hammer while the loser then gets to choose which colour rocks their team will play with. In the event the winner wishes to choose colour instead, the loser receives hammer for the first end.
The bell signals that you are now in your final end. No new end is allowed to commence after the bell has sounded. Bell times will be programmed for 3:50pm, 6:00pm, 8:10pm, and 10:25pm. An end is deemed to be over when the end’s last rock has left the hand of the player delivering it.

Fundraising
A team will be responsible for selling 50/50 tickets to the teams who curled at their time. The 50/50 box is kept behind the bar. Cost per ticket is 50¢ with no maximums and no bulk discounts. The team selling 50/50 tickets for the last draw time must also draw the winning ticket. Place 50% of all the money, as there is no float, in an envelope within the 50/50 box indicating the amount, date and winner. The other 50% goes to the winner. Write the amount, date and name on the chalkboard beside the bar, and place the winner’s envelope in the 50/50 box if not present. Money raised goes toward prizes/supplies throughout the year and the end of season banquet.
Sparing and Defaults
PLEASE attempt to find your own spares if you are unable to play a scheduled game. A spares list will be maintained on both the club’s website and Saturday Mixed section of the bulletin board. If you have exhausted all registered spares without success, non-members will be allowed to spare for a $15 fee payable at the bar.
When using spares, they cannot throw skip’s rocks and ALL teams must obey the alternating sexes rules. Spares can hold the broom and decide shots (i.e. call the game), but an original team member must always throw skip’s rocks (the last two stones). If you are unable to find enough spares to play with the minimum three (3) players, you must contact your opponent and the committee at

ASAP to see if alternate arrangements can be made in lieu of a default. Otherwise, defaults are recorded as an 8-0 loss for the defaulting team.
